This page is dedicated to my character-focused work — the designs, concepts, and illustrations that explore personality, story, and visual identity. Here you’ll find a range of pieces, from early sketches and silhouette studies to fully realised characters complete with lore, purpose, and presence.

Character design is where my creativity feels the most alive, and this collection highlights the worlds, moods, and ideas I enjoy bringing to life. Whether it’s developing unique shapes, experimenting with costume and culture, or imagining the stories that define these characters, each piece represents part of my artistic process and growth.

Thank you for taking the time to explore these characters. I hope you enjoy meeting them.

This set of concept sketches explores early design ideas for two characters from my original worldbuilding project. The first three drawings focus on Alastriel, an elven royal whose visual identity blends elegance, divinity, and soft flowing shapes. These sketches experiment with pose, silhouette, and garment structure as I refined their personality and presence through linework.

The final sketch introduces their appointed guardian a disciplined soldier from the Aviral Imperium. Their design uses sharper forms, structured armour, and a grounded stance to create a deliberate contrast against Alastriel’s celestial and graceful silhouette.

Together, these pieces showcase the early stages of my character development process, highlighting how pose, shape language, and costume exploration help define each character’s role and relationship within the story.

Final Character(s)

Alastriel - Character Design
Alastriel is an original character developed for my Final Major Project (FMP). They are the third child of the ruling family of the Aviral Imperium, blending royal lineage with divine influence. Their identity as a non-binary masc elf guided much of the visual direction, focusing on elegance, strength, and an androgynous design language.

A key feature of Alastriel’s character is their Time Weaving ability magic that allows them to manipulate the flow of time. This influenced their silhouette, colour palette, and overall sense of motion within the design.

Their outfit consists of formal imperial attire paired with a cloak. I included the binder as an intentional character detail that reflects their identity and adds depth to who they are, while remaining consistent with the overall aesthetic. They also wield a mysterious longsword of unknown origin, designed to complement their role and personality.

This piece presents the finalised design, showcasing their silhouette, colour choices, and overall visual identity.
